Work With Me

Want a reliability review or a fix for something that keeps going wrong? Tell me a little about it. I read every message myself: Starter Reliability Review inquiries get an answer within one working day, and everything else within a few days.

How I handle your data

Your systems and your data stay yours. Every engagement is fully remote and run in line with the UK GDPR, built around one principle: hold as little as possible, for only as long as it's genuinely needed.

  • Data minimization. I only ask for the access and information the work actually requires, nothing kept "just in case".
  • Your passwords stay yours. I never need them: you add me as a user under my own login, view-only for a review, and you remove me when the work ends. Working copies of your code are kept on an encrypted drive, not in cloud storage. The session records my AI tool keeps sit on my laptop's main drive, outside that encrypted drive. They hold no customer data and are deleted within 30 days of handover.
  • Where your messages go. Email reaches me through Gmail, and this contact form is delivered by Formspree. AI-assisted work is covered under How I work on the services page.
  • Telemetry and training. The software tools I use on client work have telemetry switched off wherever they offer that choice. Claude, the AI tool I develop with, is separate: it has model training switched off, so your code is not used to train models. Your own telemetry stays inside your estate.
  • Storage limitation. Within 30 days of handover I delete code, logs and working files. I keep the signed agreements, invoices and our emails, including any reports I sent you, as business records for six years.
  • Registered with the ICO. Doby Baxter, trading as Doby Baxter Computing, is registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office. You can check the entry on the ICO's public register.

These hold my full privacy notice, a data processing agreement (DPA) ready to sign, my terms of business, and my cancellation, termination & right-to-decline policy. In short: you can cancel a starter review or Find & Fix at any time and anything else on 14 days' notice (or straight away if I've slipped up and not put it right), and I only step back from work for clear reasons like scope drifting past what we agreed, missing authorization, or non-payment. Starter reviews are paid before I start, Find & Fix in two steps, and bigger projects half before and half on delivery.
